CIVIL WAR YEARS DVD
In May of 2010, New Bern was the site of an incredible weekend of Civil War re enactments, symposiums on the War years, living history exhibits and illustrations of life during this time in our nations history.
The Battle of New Bern took place over many miles...the enactment compressed both space and time to give a sense of the actions taken, including the bombardment of New Bern by ships and the return fire from shore based batteries.
Each Numbered DVD offered here is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and shows the highlights of this weekend, including interviews with participants, points of history and the placing of a wreath at the convergence of the Neuse and Trent Rivers to honor the dead on both sides of this difficult time in American History.
When you purchase this DVD from this site, $10.00 of each DVD sold will go to a special fund to help defer the cost of events in New Bern. It is by raising funds that New Bern can have events like this one to educate, entertain and to remembr the history of the area.
